Bay 2025-26 Academic Calendar

Congratulations!

We are so excited to have you join us as a member of the Bay community. The first day of classes is August 18, and while that may seem far away, it will be here before you know it. We have a lot to offer before then to get you started in your life as a Breaker.

Welcome Day: May 4, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Sunday, May 4, we will hold our Welcome Day event for new students and their parents/guardians. Please join us for games, food, and the chance to start making connections with other new Breakers. You will meet some key members of our staffulty and get information about the months ahead. But for now, sit back and relax knowing that you have a new high school home. (Link to register is over on the parent/guardian page.)

Your First Year at Bay

Moving up to high school or transferring somewhere new can feel nerve-wracking. We know you’ll be wondering about a lot of things. Don’t worry: We got you... Here are just some of the ways we will help you land on your feet.

You’ll meet your group of 7 or 8 students in your grade and your advisor during orientation. You’ll be with them your whole time at Bay. Your advisor is there to listen, help connect you if you have questions, and develop a strong supportive group dynamic. The bonds you form with them and the classmates in your advisory are key to feeling prepared from day one.

We created this year-long class to help you get to know our culture, be a successful student, and get the most out of your time in high school. What is mindfulness and why do we practice it? Where do I go when I need help with math? What are ways for me to become a leader in my community? Questions like these, and many more, will be answered.

Over the summer, there are optional workouts and open gyms for different sports teams, and anyone can join in. There’s also a pre-audition theater workshop in August for students interested in the fall musical, where you get to meet friends and learn about the show. These are great opportunities to get involved at Bay before school even starts!

Tutorial is time set aside for you to meet with teachers for extra help or just to check in. It's on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and it’s a great way to build relationships with teachers and get support when you need it.

We also offer student-run tutoring groups that provide help with math, science and writing.

Clubs meet weekly, and there's a club fair early in the year where you can sign up for whatever interests you. You can even start your own club if you want! See our most recent offerings here.

Student-directed, with guidance and support from staffulty, these groups are an important means for our students to build connection and solidarity with others of a shared identity. We are committed to building a culture of belonging at Bay and creating spaces where students can explore and build lasting relationships. Here's a list of our recent offerings.
