Elsa '24, surrounded by many of her teammates, was honored at San Francisco City Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 5, for being the Division 5 state cross-country champion. The final meet took place in Fresno on November 25, and Elsa crossed the finish line with no other runners in sight, with a time of 18:06.3. Prior to the state meet, she had won the North Coast Section. She gave a short speech thanking her family, Bay's coaches, and her teammates and received a certificate from Supervisor Rafael Mandelman.
Our cross-country teams both had their best seasons ever, with the boys and girls teams taking 3rd place in the Bay Counties League championship and many personal bests. Thanks, Coach Wally and Assistant Coach Claire, for leading the team, and congratulations to all the team members for being so supportive of each other. You are great representatives for Bay.
