Flora is a member of the Senior Leadership Team at the Town School for Boys, San Francisco, as the Director of Community Building and Inclusion, a role that she has held for 14 years. She has a long career in early childhood education and school administration. Flora was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya and immigrated to the U.S., where she received a B.A. and a Masters of Education from South Western Oklahoma State University. She has earned multiple certificates in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Harvard Business School.

A Board Member at Horizons-San Francisco Friends School, Flora sits on the Governance Committee and recently joined the Hamlin School for Girls, the Cow Hollow Preschool Boards of Trustees and The Global Teachers Institute-Johannesburg, South Africa. She partners with San Francisco Equity Leaders in independent schools and provides a range of workshops for educators through the California Teacher Development Collaborative. Flora has served on multiple CAIS Accreditation teams and recently collaborated with Daycroft School in Michigan on their next Strategic Plan. She is the Senior Community and Education Consultant with Teach With Africa-an organization empowering students and teachers in a reciprocal exchange of teaching and learning in South Africa and in the United States. Flora is passionate about collaborating with stakeholders to promote diversity in all its forms, global education and service-learning. Flora has a large family dispersed around the world and resides in San Francisco with her husband, David, and daughter, Nzilani ’28. She enjoys a good cup of masala chai.
