Cathy appreciates that Bay creates a kind and supportive community, building a framework to nurture students’ passions while encouraging them to reflect deeply on their experiences, find their voice, and understand the different roles they can play in making their community stronger.K-8 Spanish Immersion school in the Mission district.
Precept affinity: We value the richness of difference and diversity; we don’t praise ourselves at the expense of another; we don’t bully or haze. "This precept speaks to the kind, supportive, trusting community that Bay works hard to develop and maintain. When we value what each person brings to the group and recognize and embrace differences and diversity without trying to prove why we are better than someone else or make someone else feel small or invisible, we appreciate each other, build trust and grow together as individuals and as a community."
Cathy received her BA in child study and American studies from Tufts University. Her son graduated with the Class of 2020 and her daughter is a member of the Class of 2024.
