Nell Branco MPH, MSW is an alumni parent of two Bay graduates (2018 and 2022) and worked in Bay Area independent schools as a school counselor and health teacher for 20 years. In 2021 Nell returned to the place where she started her career 25 years ago on the Navajo Nation, and is now working as a licensed clinical social worker for a hospital in Tuba City, Arizona, seeing children and teens. She divides her time between California and Arizona to provide teletherapy from home and in-person care while on site. Providing support and mental health services to students so they can thrive at home, socially, and at school has been the focus of her work. Nell received her undergraduate degree in social anthropology at Harvard University and her graduate degrees in maternal and child health and social work from UC Berkeley.
Nell loves the strong community spirit amongst Bay’s families and staffulty. She is married to Nelson and her three children now live in Chicago,
Boston, and Berkeley. Nell enjoys running, knitting, reading, and road trips.
