Zoe Bender is an educator, activist, and artist. She grew up in the Bay Area, where she has been investigating marginalized histories for many years. With an eclectic background in dance, theater, and permaculture, she received her MFA in interdisciplinary arts from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2015. Zoe’s graduate work explored the intersection of social justice and performance arts, focusing on issues of displacement and belonging in the rapidly changing city of San Francisco. She recently completed the Single Subject Teaching Credential Program at SF State University, receiving her credential in social studies. The things that bring her most joy are: dancing, the ocean, and creepy clowns.
