Steve is a litigation partner with Jones Day, a global law firm. He represents U.S. and foreign companies, financial institutions, and individuals in business litigation in courts across the nation, often in securities class actions, merger litigation, derivative actions, or corporate governance disputes. He also represents boards of directors in internal investigations and regularly advises public companies on fiduciary duty and disclosure issues. Steve is Chairman of the Board of the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Relations, a director of Lawyers Without Borders, a member of the South Carolina Honors College Partnership Board, and is a past President of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers of Northern California. Steve holds degrees from the University of South Carolina (B.Ar.Sc.) and Yale Law School. Steve and his wife, Mary, are parents to two sons, who are members of the Bay classes of ’21 and ’23.
