Aligning deeply with Bay's interdisciplinary education model, Karl himself has found a merger of his passions, highlighted by his time at the San Francisco Art Institute, where going through critique taught him how to ask how others are seeing and help them express themselves in their own words. Professionally, his background is in editorial, project management, and of course, education, where he believes in advocating for student rights and equity, justice and access in the classroom.
When not working, you can find Karl painting, shooting film into the sun at Ocean Beach or just going for a drive.
Precept affinity: We value patience with ourselves and others; we don’t rush to judgment. "In a world where we're pressured to react or condemn at an instant, pausing, sitting with our emotions, and practicing grace are some of the greatest gifts we can offer one another."
