Amy is a non-practicing attorney, who practiced at McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen in San Francisco and at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto after serving as a law clerk to a federal district court judge in Sacramento. While raising four children, including a member of the Bay Class of 2021, she has served as a nonprofit board member and an active community volunteer. Board memberships have included The Center for Reproductive Rights, where she served as Chair; Represent Us; The Little School; and Marin FC. She is a Co-Chair of the People and Parks Forever Fund Campaign for the Golden Gate Parks Conservancy, a founding member of Electing Women San Francisco, and a previous member of the Campaign Steering Committee for the Bay Keys Campaign.

Amy received a B.A. in History from Yale University, where she was a member of the Yale Women's Crew Team, and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

She appreciates that Bay is "truly a student-centered community, where students feel seen, heard and encouraged by their teachers."
