Statistics not only helped Dorothy conquer her math phobia, it gave a sense of purpose to all of the calculations and started her down the path of loving data analysis. Fortunately for Bay, one of her roles here is exactly right, as she uses data to steer admissions. At the same time, she is at working the other end of the high school spectrum by helping to teach our college counseling course. “In the 11th and 12th grades, Bay gives students time in their schedule to thoughtfully approach the college search and application process. I love that my role in this is to try to diffuse the mythology of college admissions and to assist the students in approaching this process by centering their needs, goals, and preferences.”
